Custom site header and site footer
I am looking at adding a custom site header and footer to one of my AOM sites. I was wondering if there is much documentation on this or anyone has any samples that could be modified. I am looking to include a custom logo to the header and a few links such as to a contact us page. I'd like to do the same thing with the footer, maybe include some Amazon graphics etc. I am thinking I will keep the navigation bar separate for now.
Also wondering if it matters if the file is php or html (i.e. benefits of either).
Thanks!!

Some basic information is available in the AOM Blog, with a brief list of things you'll need in a custom header.

Re: Custom site header and site footer
Thanks Mike, it looks like I might do best with some html code. I have some basic skills so I think I will try and give it a go. The php may be just a little beyond my skill set. For now I added a custom gif logo to the header which looks ok but there are a few navigation items I would like to include which I think can be taken care of with this html.
Also, I have been on the AOM blog for some other tips, it is a great resource. I should review that more. Thanks again.

Sorry that a lame reference.. There is nothing in that code that related to AMO period. Thats nothing more than a standard HTML header that you find in any html document.. I would think there are better examples out there if not ill make one myself, if i can find the timemcarp555 wrote:Some basic information is available in the AOM Blog, with a brief list of things you'll need in a custom header.

Re: Custom site header and site footer
What is 'AMO'? As stated, it's a generic header, with the minimum items you need to make a custom header work. It was never meant to be a 'customized' header, since everybody would require a different one. Please feel free to make your own; that was the whole point.
Re: Custom site header and site footer
You can achieve this by creating two html files -- header.html and footer.html, and then in AOM site setting, add the files in header and footer section, respectively. You need to upload these files to your store first using ftp software such as Filezilla.

Do you know which navigation code you will use first?
