I was doing a site a week, but I have stopped doing that. I'm now making sites with more content that feed traffic to the shop.php.

If you are a paid AOM owner you can learn how that's done at letsbuildastore.hut18.com for free.

You can do it two ways. You can test a site out as a subdomain, using the main keyphrase fo the subdomain name. Then after a while, if it's going well, you can move the whole thing over to a new domain, and have the old subdomain redirect to the new domain.

But domains are so darn cheap I just get a new one each time I build a site. Using proper market research, keyword research, page optimization and silo structuring it usually takes about a month to get one up correctly. Then you get about two context links per page back from a related site using the keyphrase for that page as anchor text and you're on your way.

It's funny how if you have a properly done website how you really don't need hundred of backlinks to get a good keyword ranking.

But no site is ever finished. You have to keep adding good unique content on a regular basis.

My license is due for renewal & i'm thinking of dumping Amazon.
It take too much bandwidth & does not translate to revenue.

What other good program do u think fit a shopping mall concept?
I'm looking for white label program.

While I love AOM, I'm also experimenting with other product lines that pay more, as an addition.

I have two site for AOM that pulls traffic very, very well, but I also advertise on my content pages products that pay 10-25%.

When you go outside of AOM you have the problems of updating all your products regularly. I'm more of a set and update once in a while person.

There is a store software script for ebay, but they don't pay well, either. There is a script for art.com, and they pay 25-30% also, but the market isn't all that great. Anything else and you are asking for a full time job updating and taking orders personally.

I add anchor links in the AOM content pages directly to the affiliate site.

HAve you tried doing your AOM stores the way I show in letsbuildastore.hut18.com?

The range of visitors per day on each of those two is between 200-500 uniques a day. Not especially impressive, though.

If you have the money, and understand what a long tail keyword is, you can get a lot more traffic using Google Adwords. There ARE Amazon Associates who do this an make a lot of cash.

The outlay is expensive though. The key is to generate a huge list of keywords and then take that list over to the adwords traffic estimator tool and find the keywords that have very low cost per click.

The problem is that you have to pay for the ads at the end of the month, but you don't get your check from Amazon for another month. If you have a lot of money to float, then that's ok.

Split testing the ads, and grouping the keywords is essential.

I can report that after using AOM for a month I average $125.00/day in commissions from 3 sites.

I do alot of PPC marketing - so, it's not all profit - but, I still do pretty well.

I have plans for many many more AOM site - I love this script.

Thanks very much for sharing that information. I did not try any PPC and have a site that attracts only about 200-300 visitors per month but still no sales.

I still have'nt implemented any of Amy's suggestions though, so can't really complain. I keep getting sidetracked by other things..

I have had my 10+ sites up for over a month now and not a single sale. Some of these sites get up to 400 unique visitors a day. i'm doing something wrong but can't figure it out.. Is the only place you need to put your store id under the 'amazon' tab - and it looks something like xxxxxxxxxxxxx-20 for USA sites??

My two cents, for what it's worth... Your Honda & Celica sites look like online used cars. It's not apparent that you're also selling parts, manuals, accessories, etc. If you're using tracking software like Google Analytics or Statcounter.com, it might be worthwhile to see exactly what your visitors are looking at. Are they exploring the category/subcategory pages, or just giving the home page a look then leaving? And what is the market like for auto parts online? Is it a worthwhile niche or do most people just go to the local parts store when they need something? If you're getting traffic, try to find out what people are coming to your site and looking for, then cater to that.
