No.. Not recently... I have to see your website and see if it exists in the Google Search. It could be several of things. If your website does not exist, you need to find out why they de-indexed your website and fixed it. After that, you will need to file for reconsideration request. I post a youtube video for "What should be included in a proper reconsideration request?"

Re: Faced sites de-indexed problem...? how?
Hi,
I did not face a site de-indexing, however, I did experience a huge drop in traffic. I used to get about 300 visitors a day, now I am getting about 12. Sales dropped drastically.
Google said that affiliate sites that provide no original content will be punished (they check if the same content exists on other multiple sites), unfortunately with AoM there is little room to change the content, thus our sites all have the same content in the product information. Thus our sites might get a much lower rank.
Basically, we are all contributing for the downfall of each other and eventually of AoM
Some other products are mitigating this by using a word spinner so that the wording is changed on each site but the meaning remains the same.

Word spinners are a shortcut that eventually Google will figure out, and slam any site using one. AOM provides you with plenty of space to add original content; but it's up to you to create it the old-fashioned way, by writing it.
Re: Faced sites de-indexed problem...? how?
True, but at least at the time being some are making money whilst others are not. When Google slams the site it will slam mine together with others that currently have an "advantage" over ours.
Google has been slamming sites time and time again and it is becoming increasingly difficult to gain top ranking, or any ranking at all. So, yes, I agree that true original content is they way to go. In this respect, maybe AoM should integrate within CMS solutions more such as Wordpress which is a framework built purposely for content generation, whilst having their own set of themes and design layouts.

Mike is right on, but Google is getting pickier! Expanding on this subject further, here is what I suspect the Google algorithm is using recently in their indexing and deindexing:Word spinners are a shortcut that eventually Google will figure out, and slam any site using one. AOM provides you with plenty of space to add original content; but it's up to you to create it the old-fashioned way, by writing it.
First category titles and item titles are fine from Amazon's API, thats it!
1) You cannot reference: Amazon ASIN numbers in the category or items, but UPC's are allowed!
2) You cannot use Amazon's item description, the description must be rewritten and be original.
These are two of the biggest culprits!
Justin:
The question is can the API call-ups be made using UPC's and/or eliminate ASIN references?
Also can the Amazon descriptions have an option not be shown?
This is strictly for Google, and it would require work on writing original descriptions! AOM is setup now to add the additional content in the description area! Descriptions can be contracted out, and paid by the word! Copyscape would have to be used to check whomever does the work for you!

Re: Faced sites de-indexed problem...? how?
Has anyone heard of the 'googleoff/googleon' tags? Maybe adding these to the product description areas of the files might keep Google from using Amazon's text to hinder a site.
Joe: I don't know if the API allows for calling product by UPC (I suspect not). But certainly it's important to keep the ASIN display turned off in your site(s).

Mike: How about the option of displaying or not the Amazon description?
I don't think adding to or rearranging the description will help, but I could be wrong!
Google wants original content! Try any AOM item page on Copyscape for a shock!

Mike I forgot to mention that the ASIN is in the item url itself, or am I missing something?

Mike you got to stay on the forum longer, I'm talking to myself here!
In any case it looks like ASIN callup is the default, but UPC is available in the docs as valid!
I'd venture to say that the majority of API users are using the default ASIN, and Google probably isn't using it in their algorithm, here again I could be wrong!

Re: Faced sites de-indexed problem...? how?
Seems like they will not be able to use UPC in Canada though. I don't know why Google are doing this anyway. It seems like they are on a mission to kill affiliate marketing. I mean, granted, if one has time they can write their own product description and maybe a review of the product. But, time is limited, there are too many affiliates to compete with, and they payout isn't astronomical. After all we are increasing the sales of Amazon at the end of the day, this is not even a white label, we might take all the effort and after getting a client, lose them to Amazon, since it is them who will be sending them all the personalized emails and so on.
Google just closed down their Affiliate marketing section, makes one wonder.

Google Affiliate Network sorry.
Re: Faced sites de-indexed problem...? how?
My personal opinion is that's exactly what they want. I suspect they see it as something of no value, like spam. It may have to do with the Apple/Google/Amazon wars that are currently raging in the dark corners of the Internet as well.IcEDFiRE wrote:It seems like they are on a mission to kill affiliate marketing.

Mike: Would you pass on the idea of toggling Amazon's description on/off to Justin!
I know that Amazon UPC call ups would be more than likely a major revision, but would probably
buy time in Googles world!
