Forwarding istead of direct links when cart is off

Post by aclass » Sun Dec 20, 2009 4:24 am

I need a way to hide the direct links to Amazon when I'm not using the cart...

Any way?

They wouldn't be considered direct I would think anymore. The best way to hide it is to have the cart, which most like better. If you want to just refer, you can simply cloak from a blog, but then again, the objective is to get them to Amazon - so at the end "they will know".

Ah ha :D ! I'm very glad that I found this post. With the success of the image cloaking, I was wondering if AOM can apply the same method for Amazon links when the shopping cart is turn off or the amazon button is shown on the category/subcategory section. This thread (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4177) is very similar to this post.

We're adding an Amazon URL cloak feature in the upcoming release. It will apply to all links that would normally have included Amazon's domain in them...

- View Cart (when AOM cart disabled)
- Checkout (when AOM cart disabled)
- Tell A Friend links
- Add to Wishlist links
- Add to Wedding Registry links
- Add to Baby Registry links
- Amazon buy buttons (when AOM cart disabled or for non-tangible/digital goods)
