AWS free tier??

Post by techsaavy » Wed Mar 30, 2016 10:25 am

I am setting up a new store and it's asking for the AWS key, and all I see at Amazon is an AWS free tier that asks for my Credit card for any overages... am I in the right place? And if I am is there a way to get this key, or bypass this step to still set up my store?

You're not in the right place. The AWS keys are free, but Amazon does make it difficult to navigate through their site. Try reading this guide; if you've already set up an AWS account in Amazon, you may need to contact them and explain the situation. They should be able to change your settings so you can get the free keys.

Note also there are two keys, a 20-character 'public' one and a 40-character 'private' one. You will need both.
