Theme Programming: How to let automatically set dark text / highlight text?

Post by shopmaker » Thu Jan 14, 2016 4:48 am

In the admin area the text colors can be set, both dark and light text colors. There is the notice
This color would be used on light backgrounds versus the Text Light Color which is used on dark backgrounds.
It seems AOM selects the approbiate text color automatically in the default theme. I am looking for the magic code which sets the text color depending on the background color automatically. I want to use it in my css.tpl.php. Do you have a hint, please?

I heavily modify my css.tpl.php and since it is a php you would have to find code which reads your gifs or jpgs you have on your backgrounds and code appropriately to your light or dark text. On my sites, I have a code for each character which reads up their mascots and backgrounds, etc, and then use a neutral background for the main text area. Good luck!

Great you worked out solutions, but none for the case of just a bg color and two foreground colors light and dark for text? :D
