Post by pixie » Wed Oct 26, 2011 11:08 pm

Is it possible to rearrange the url structure? On my site currently my url structure is this http://http://mysite.com/906-468240-B00 ... ickel.html and what I want to happen is this format http://http://mysite.com/Waterpik_TRS_5 ... LKBFM.html

It may be possible to rearrange the various elements of the mod_rewrite rules, as long as all the required parameters are included. However, because the rules do change from time to time, it would be up to the user to do the rearranging and track the changes as they occur.

From your example, it looks like all you're doing is rearranging the elements in the URL:

Cat ID - Node - ASIN - Item Description - .html

to:

Item Description - Cat ID - Node - ASIN - .html

So it may be possible. However we are unable to offer customized versions of the mod_rewrite rulesets. You would have to make the changes yourself (or have someone else make the changes for you).

I'm very glad pixie mention this.

Is there a file where I can change the order of the mod rewrite parameter from within the AOM site when the SEO mod rewrite is off. If I can get it to match the custom .htaccess mod_rewrite ruleset, I can turn it back on and the format the way I wanted. By default, it appears that the item page is set to category-node-item asin
