CSS codes not working on godaddy

Post by gabi99 » Fri Jan 30, 2009 6:54 am

Hello,
I got AOM a few days ago, I configured and everythig is working fine on my localhost, however once I uploaded the code on GoDaddy servers it seems that the system is not able to interpret correctly the php code of cfg.css.php file.

When the css file is called from the HTML page it gets some parameters in the query:

Code: Select all

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="aom/cfg.css.php?AC=%23FFCC33&ACA=%23000000&BC=%23000000&BI=&BBC=%23FFFFFF&BRC=%23000000&DT=Yes&LC=%23000000&LS=1&LE=dotted&LKC=%230000CC&LKH=%236666FF&LKV=%23551A8B&MC=%23000000&MCA=%23FFFFFF&TC=%23000000&TF=Verdana%2C+sans-serif&THC=%23990000&TLF=Arial%2C+sans-serif&TLS=xx-large&TLW=bold&TLC=%23000000&TY=style_01&TS=small&TBI=No&">
However this parameters are not applied in the css code ([AC] value is not #FFCC33 for example, but itis left blank). I repeat the code works ok on both localhost for linux and windows. For the hosting service from GoDaddy I do have php (otherwise shop.php would not load at all). Also I set the file permissions accordingly (otherwise no parameter from css file would get through - and the ones that are predefined are getting through - only the once send via query are not). The only solution I could find was to get the parsed css file from localhost and overwrite it on the server (as a standard dot css file not .css.php).

Any ideas?

Thanks guys

I've seen this happen recently on Hostgator as well, but as of yet have not seen an explanation. If you're still having this problem, open a support ticket and we can try to take a closer look at it for you.

I use hostgator with no problems...maybe we can figure it out.

Are you using a Windows or Linux host?

You're not using a free host at godaddy are you? They parse the page and that always messes up the CSS that way. It's from the banner ads they place at the top.

Was there any resolution to this? I just started with godaddy and I'm having the same problem. After simply copying the AOM and site files over to godaddy, the only thing that didn't work was CSS. All the styles that are my custom styles work just fine. None of the AOM styles work.

Can you view the /aom/cfg.css.php file directly in your browser? If not, it's almost certainly a file permission error with the /aom directory. GoDaddy uses those bizarre symbols instead of just displaying the actual setting. If you view the file with an FTP program like Filezilla, you can check if it's the default 644 (or 0644) or not.

Sorry to bump this up but has this issue been resolved by GoDaddy?

@clippittee,

If you have a problem with one of your sites, please post it so we can look at it.
There is no problem running AOM on Godaddy servers.
