Small Parts?

Hi,

Can the Amazon Small Parts spin-off currently be integrated into AOM?

Ideally as a category using browser nodes?

Thanks!

"Buy Button Type" - Where is it?

Hi Mike, You were kind enough to answer an OT question that I threw into a response in the "Dork" thread. Rather than take that thread further OT, this is a new thread to follow up on your response. After seeing a "pirate" AOM site, I inquired: One thing that intrigued me though - the "Buy From Amaz...

Re: UNLICENCED COPIES OF YOUR SCRIPT BEING SOLD

Hi Mike, I just read on the Amazon Associates forum about a guy who was taken by this "Dork" for a garbage website and was coming here to make sure you guys were on top of it. The poor victim didn't know just how victimized they were and had only come to the forum to ask for a site review about this...

Re: how to start a second AOM website

Long as we are roughly on the subject of multiple installs, I've been wanting to get a clarification on the following: Leaving subdomains and mod_rewrites out of the equation for a moment, say I own http://www.mysite.com Traditionally I've had my AOM install under http://www.mysite.com/goodname I wo...

Re: New Amazon API Sales Plummet

While my sales have been horrible lately, I can't help but notice that recent sales all came from non-AOM pages. Very well could be co-incidence.

Re: how to start a second AOM website

I get two hosting credits with the first purchase (http://www.thegamespit.com) so i used one and now both are located (hosted) at godaddy. Gonna use real names to make it easier: May I butt in? Those hosting credits that Godaddy gives out are for Godaddy ad-supported free pages. I recall asking God...

Re: I cannot upgrade from 4.1.5 to 4.2.1

Hey, at least that's an easy one.

Just do what it says.

Log into yoursite.com/admin.php and click "Save all settings".

You needn't even change any settings (though you'll find out when you see your store) and you'll be up and running.

That happens anytime that you upgrade.

Good luck!

Re: Custom Boxes question

Hi, Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with setting up Apache Directives. However, the server is running Linux on an Apache/1.3.41 (Unix) PHP/4.4.8 server. I changed the header to utf-8 and that didn't help. Since I never had a problem before, I may just find it easier to update the external content si...

Re: Custom Boxes question

1. What's the charset you're using in the head section of your site? AOM changed a few versions back from iso-8859-1 to utf-8. Gee, in my header section, I've been using "charset=windows-1252" forever. On all my pages on any sites I use that, not just AOM. No good? 2. Are your external HTML pages u...

Re: Amazon product no display

FWIW, I had the same problem with 4.2.0 No products would display in any store, whether I searched for them, provided an ASIN or title or tried to simply list a category. It may have been due to out of date nodes (grey) rather than the current nodes (green), but I had already decided to move up to 4...

Re: Modify the Default Homepage for your Domain

Since this seems to be an ongoing thread, might I ask this question here? I'd like to migrate my current unwieldy method of setting up pages to something more efficient and manageable -- without using redirects. Ideally, on a site with AOM installed, instead of having one 'shop.php' file suting all ...

Custom Boxes question

Hi, When the "Custom Boxes" section allowed for including "HTML/PHP Files", rather than bloat my cfg.saved.php unduly, I'm often linking to content using an obviously absolute URL on other sites of mine. While I'll readliy admit to not always writing in the W3C/King's HTML format, I found that many ...

Using Strings of ASINs

Mike, Not so long ago you gently chastised me for clinging to ancient versions of AOM. While I fully understand the need we had to upgrade now (good job on short notice, AOM Team!), I want to clarify something. After finally moving up to 4.14 and 4.15 on my sites at the time, I mentioned in another ...

Re: how to start a second AOM website

GoWatson, your question is not dumb at all. I recall wondering and probably asking the same thing some years back when I started with AOM. ******** Mike, Would you mind explaining one piece of your good advice to GoWatson? then you need to create a subdirectory (which is not the same as a subfolder,...
