Re: 410 Error!?
Thanks for the idea... I did change hosting so I went and checked but that wasnt it. I finally figured it out. In my htaccess, I was checking for known spam robots and not allowing requests from them. I had the user agent in there apparently for the one that the w3c validator used so I removed that ...

Re: Pre-populate cache files for speed and lower cpu
Mike, Ok well then if we have to absolutely have the 24 hour rule from amazon, how else can we combat this "The server is busy. Please refresh this page in a moment." message? My sites seem to literally be serving out more of them than product pages no joke. Ive lowered crawl delays, added index,no ...

Re: Pre-populate cache files for speed and lower cpu
Hi Mike, Thanks for the reply... Yes you are right it would take more cpu to make the catalog but the cpu is being used BEFORE a customer is ready to buy or a SPIDER is ready to bring me paying traffic so I can stand a chance of getting indexed. My sites are constantly getting this "The server is bu...

Re: What addon script is this site using www.prubuy.sg
On the new X-Site Theme, the product pages look ok but the homepage looks like it shifts the products (um, the things we get paid for) about 75% down the homepage which means they are looking at a banner instead of products. Site might be a scam or not I dont know but I DO like the simplicity and cl...

Pre-populate cache files for speed and lower cpu
One feature that I think would be to do is to pre-populate the cache files by: 1: cron runs a script (killpages.php) which once a month deletes the pages.xml file and then it builds a url list of EVERY possible product and category page inside my AOM store and saves this as pages.xml and category.xm...

Re: Account limit of 2175 requests per hour exceeded.
How about instead of maximum of X requests per hour we email the admin contact ONCE with this error meanwhile displaying something friendly to the users like... We apologize however our servers are undergoing maintenance and will be back online within one hour. Please come back then. That way when t...

5.1 and custom boxes
5.1 looks great however I was hoping in this version there would be a new custom box location in the upper right hand corner to the right of the logo area on the left.
On the upper right corner its all blank space.. I want to put adsense there. How can I do this?
Thanks!
Matt

BUG: Settings Saved Correct areas in red
I have a larger AOM store with around 150 categories. I added in some new categories and now im getting funky things happen when I click on a tab, it displays data from another category! On the top it says " Settings Saved Correct areas in red" Problem is that there is no red area on the page to cor...

Compress pages
If this one line of code could be added to shop.php, it might speed up our stores up to 10 times! Any chance this can be tested and added in the next build? http://kb.siteground.com/article/How_to_enable_gZIP_compression_for_your_pages.html http://www.whatsmyip.org/http_compression/phpgzip/ Use this...

Re: Easier way to sort categories
Also in the search dropdown box, the entries arent alphabetized. I have to rearrange my categories just to alphabetize them.
I think all AOM sites would benefit if the dropdown for the search items were automatically alphabetized no matter the order of the categories.
