- Items not available for sale were showing up in store pages. FIXED in v2.5
Note: Even though Amazon now allows us to filter these results from your store pages, they can still appear for a time. The reason being there can be a delay between when these items are changed to unavailable on Amazon's side and thus they could still show up for a time in your store until the update propagates. If an item is unavailable in your store, we now give you a means to output a message to this effect to avoid confusion with your visitors.
- The "see all XXX items" links within the Blended search results (Home page format and searching all products) do not match the results when clicking through on these links. The reason being the Blended search does not yet support the Availability flag recently introduced by Amazon to filter unavailable results. However once you click through on these links it uses a different type of search that does support the flag and filters the results down from the original number. We'll fix this as Blended search format accepts the availability flag. PARTIALLY FIXED in v2.5.3, further fixes in v3.0
- Results on category and subcategory listings vary as you click through the page results. Amazon knows about the problem and is looking at what they can do to address it. Once they do, it will automatically correct itself within your store pages.
- Amazon's Wireless category has the following limitation:
You will not be able to place Wireless items directly in the AOM shopping cart if there is a plan as part of the offer, or if a choice of any kind has to be made. Phones and accessories qualify for a referral fee for Associates, while service plans do not qualify for a referral fee.
TEMPORARY WORKAROUND in v2.6: Because Wireless items with a phone plan cannot be added to the remote AOM shopping cart, we are pointing all wireless items directly to Amazon (even when the shopping cart is enabled) so that you still earn commissions on them. Again, phones and accessories qualify for a referral fees while service plans do not.
- From time to time in what appears to be random occurrences, items don't add to the AOM built-in shopping cart.
UPDATE in v3.0: We've added additional enhancements and checks. Because cookies are required we now check for this as items are being added to the cart. If cookies are not enabled, a message will be displayed on screen instructing the user to enable them. Also, remote carts expire after 90 days (cart with contents) and 7 days (empty carts). AOM now checks to see whether or not the current cart is within these timeframes. If not, a message will be displayed on screen instructing the user to re-add the item. This effectively starts a new cart (resets the 90/7 day timer).
UPDATE in v2.6: We've made some tweaks in relation the behind the scenes of how the AOM built-in cart functions. Namely, the cookies are now much more explicitly defined and take into account the locale of your store. This should help with some of the "crossed wires" causing items not to add.
UPDATE in v2.7: We've enhanced the shopping cart error reporting so that it displays errors returned by Amazon (which can occur for various reasons).
UPDATE in v2.8: We've further enhanced the cart handling functions to take into account multiple stores across multiple locales using different Associate IDs.
