This section lets you fine-tune how searching works within your store
Search All Products
New
This controls how the All Products search functions. In prior versions this has always defaulted to Blended. Now you can set the All Products search to query against one of your store categories instead. You can also set the associated Browse Node to something other than what was used for your store category.
Search Combo
If set to Yes, any user-entered search term(s) will be combined with the category-level keywords OR Site Default Keyword (if defined). If set to No, then only the user-entered search term(s) will be used. See our documentation for an in-depth look at how this works. NOTE: Setting this to Yes means you will see more focused search results, but it could also mean you lose out on sales if someone wants to search more generally.
Search Recovery
This is the maximum number of recovery search attempts made when keyword combinations return no results from Amazon. See our documentation for an in-depth look at how this works. If this option is set to 0, when no results are found, no recovery searches will take place.
Search Priority
If set to 'User keyword trumps your keywords', in search recovery attempts user keywords will be used before your keywords. If 'Your keywords trump user keyword' is selected, the inverse is true. See our documentation for an in-depth look at how this works.
Item Pages
Enter the maximum number of Item page links to be listed from 1 to 400 (10 items per page). Set to 1 if you don't want the page links displayed. NOTE: Number of page links may be less than your specified number depending on results returned.
Marketplace Pages
Enter the maximum number of Marketplace page links to be listed from 1 to 100 (10 offers per page). Set to 1 if you don't want the page links displayed. NOTE: Number of page links may be less than your specified number depending on results returned.
Review Pages
Enter the maximum number of Review page links to be listed from 1 to 999 (5 reviews per page). Set to 1 if you don't want the page links displayed. NOTE: Number of page links may be less than your specified number depending on results returned.
Here is a chart of how these parameters work in conjunction with each other and what would actually get sent to Amazon in search queries based on how the parameters are sent and which recovery attempt is being made. If results are found at any step along the way, no more search recovery attempts are made and the results are displayed. The assumption is that if a search recovery attempt is only using your Site Default Keyword or Category Level Keyword that results will be found (you would test this when you setup your categories):
K = User Enter Keyword
SDK = Site Default Keyword CLK = Category Level Keyword
